Rusutsu Season Dates

Rusutsu Resort is scheduled to open on 23rd November 2019 and will close on 5th April 2020.

Contract Dates

We require all instructors in the resort and ready to start work on December 1st. Typically, contracts run until either late-February or mid/late March, depending on individual contract details.

Season Pass

A free season pass proved for all staff, for the duration of the season.

Training and Japanese Certifications

Throughout the season international instructors can train towards their Japanese SAJ 1 & 2 certifications. It is also possible to do crossover training and exams, later in the season.

Staff Uniform

Free uniform provided free of charge for all instructors, for use in work time only. Instructors must provide their own mid/base layers, helmets, goggles, gloves, skis/snowboards etc.

Staff Accommodation

We provide free accommodation to all our instructors which are located in the ski area. The accommodation is dormitory style, located close to the boot room and under 20 meters to the nearest ski lift. The staff accommodation is connected to the North & South Wing Hotel and features Wi-Fi, kitchen facilities, a 24-hour common room, free laundry facilities and access free to the hotel pubic bath & Sauna.

Instructors are also welcome to use the hotel facilities such as swimming pool, climbing wall, fitness gym etc., for a discounted rate. All bedding and linen are provided.

Providing there are no disciplinary issues, Instructors may continue to stay in the accommodation after the completion of their contract, for a period of up to 1 month.

School Locker Room

The school locker room is conveniently located below the staff accommodation and provides secure warm storage for your ski equipment. All instructors have a place to store/dry their skis and boots.

Getting Around

Direct local buses to Sapporo (90 min), Niseko (45 min), Kutchan (30 min), Lake Toya (45 min) and Chitose Airport (90 min) make life easy. We offer a free airport pick up for all instructors arriving on the scheduled dates.

Meals & Cooking

Subsidised meals available at the staff canteen located close to the staff accommodation and ski school. The staff canteen provides a range of daily menu options and is open 7 days, per week, 10 hours per day.

Kitchen facilities are available in the staff accommodation with grocery stores within walking distance. Additionally, a 24-hour convenience store is located 100m from accommodation, perfect for snacks, ready meals, drinks etc.

Life in Rusutsu

Rusutsu is a large resort with over 4,000 beds available. The resort complex is extremely large with shops, restaurants, attractions etc.

Please be aware Rusutsu is not a party destination with the resort mainly catering to powder lovers and families, however, there are numerous small independent restaurants and bars, karaoke clubs located near the resort. These bars are within walking distance of the staff accommodation and are popular with instructors. The ski school organises regular staff parties, social events and cultural events throughout the season.
